What are Homophones?
Definition: Homophones are special words that sound the same when we say them, but they have different meanings and are spelled differently.
Examples:
👉 Homophones can be tricky, but learning them makes reading and writing more fun!
- I (when you talk about yourself) and eye (the part of your body you see with).
- Ate (the past tense of eat) and eight (the number 8).
- There (a place), their (something that belongs to them), and they’re (short for “they are”).
- Sea (a big body of saltwater) and see (to look at something).
